Subscription
The Avilution subscription service, quite possibly the best $4.95/month or $54.95/year a pilot can spend, provides access to data from a variety of sources including FAA and NOAA publicly available information as well as other proprietary data collected by Avilution. It augments some separately purchased applications (like QuickWeather where it gives access to instrument procedures when connected to the Internet) and is a requirement for some other applications like AviationMaps where the subscription is required to download map, chart, airport and procedure data for offline use, as well as to download Geo-located weather information for use while connect to the Internet.
View page 5 of our online manual for a one page guide of subscription options and application installation instructions.
How many subscriptions do I need?
A single subscription covers all subscription features of all Avilution products for one person. Please note that some applications that don’t require a subscription to operate are available as a $4.95 one-time purchases on the Android Market (e.g. WeightAndBalance and QuickWeather).
Once you’ve purchased your subscription through an application (like AviationMaps), you simply use the same credentials to activate the subscription within another application (like QuickWeather as well). There is no need to purchase a second subscription. If you use Avilution products on both your Galaxy Tab and your Nexus One, for example, you still can use just one subscription for both products. However, if you are a flight department, for example, and you have multiple pilots using Avilution applications, you should purchase a subscription for each pilot or contact us to make other arrangements.
How do I access subscription features
Most features are accessed by activating the subscription within the applications themselves. Avilution Applications which use or require a subscription will provide a screen that looks something like this:

Simply input your Google credentials and Google authenticates you to Avilution. You should only see that screen the first time you enter your subscription and maybe not more than about weekly after that. If you “reset” your subscription through the applications, that simply clears your subscription info from the app and does not cancel your subscription. You can simply reuse the same or different credentials to reactivate the subscription with the application.
Subscribers can also login to their own subscriber portal where they can access additional subscriber features and download their SkyTracker logs for example.

How do I cancel my subscription
If for any reason the subscription doesn’t meet your expectations, please let us know what we can do to improve the product! If you still wish to end your subscription however, it can be cancelled at anytime through Google Checkout using the link provided in the original purchase receipt from Google, or by contacting us with your original subscription order number or your gmail account name.
More than you wanted to know:
Subscribers are authenticated using Google’s OpenID API. Please note that your login credentials are never entered (nor should they ever be entered) to the Avilution web site directly, but we redirect to Google who then authenticates you and digitally confirms to us that you are correctly identified.
