Modular Open Systems Approach - (MOSA)

MOSA to Ensure Peak Combat Capabilities

Ensuring Army aircraft are at their peak combat capability demands keeping their systems up to date with new technologies. This has been a problem for the Army as many of these systems have proprietary elements and require certification. This is why the Army is implementing MOSA as a critical strategy for speeding the integration of new capabilities within both new and legacy aircraft. Through SBIR Phase II Contracts, Avilution has collaborated with the US Army to demonstrate an extremely rapid integration leveraging MOSA with 95% reuse of code between UH-60V and CH-47F platforms tuning a PRC-167 radio, including 100% code and binary reuse for the radio interface. The initial prototype implementation for UH60V was implemented using IRAD in just 27 days and the prototype was extended to support CH47F in just 3 days.
